Christmas in the Valley

Saturday, December 14, 2019

A very special 19th Annual Christmas in the Valley Celebration is planned for this Saturday! This year will feature Santa, refreshments, music, a special book signing, a presentation of the miracle Christmas Truce and a performance by the Fentress County Community Choir!

You and your families are invited to this Free special event in celebration of Sgt. York’s birthday and his love of Christmas and his Community. It is sponsored by Sgt. York’s family, Sgt. York State Historic Park and Sgt. York Patriotic Foundation.

The festivities will be this Saturday, December 14th from 1:00 – 5:00 at the York Country Store, 2600 North York Highway, Pall Mall, TN. We will have music, karaoke, Christmas cookie decorating, snacks, Christmas caroling, crafts and fun!

Santa Claus will join us from 2:00-4:00 with presents for all the children.

A special guest this year is the award winning author and playwright, Lisa Soland!

You may know playwright and director Lisa Soland by her recent hit play based on Pall Mall’s WWI hero Alvin York entitled Sergeant York: The Play. But Ms. Soland also writes children’s books!

On December 14th, as part of “Christmas in the Valley,” playwright and author, Lisa Soland, will be reading from her two Christmas books—The Christmas Tree Angel and its sequel, The Unmade Moose. A limited number of hardcover Christmas books will be donated for the event and will be signed by the author on a first-come, first-serve basis. Ms. Soland is looking forward to meeting each and every child and sharing with them her beloved Christmas stories of encouragement and adventure.

There will also be special guest Doughboys from the Sgt. York State Historic Park telling the incredible story of peace and harmony during the Christmas Truce.

The Fentress County Community Choir will provide their magnificent annual Christmas Concert at the Wolf River Methodist Church at 6:00.

We hope you can join us for a day of good ole fashioned Christmas fun for all ages! If you have questions, please call #879-9604 or #879-3657.
