Tales of the Wolf River

Saturday, October 31, 2020
Join the Sgt. Alvin C York State Historic Park staff on Saturday, October 31st, at 4:00 PM CST as we explore the Wolf River in an hour and a half canoeing trip upriver to the Wolf River and Rotten Fork absorption, and back down to the York Grist Mill. We will discuss the history of the river and valley throughout the ages, from Native American tribes all the way to the modern age, and also learn about the surrounding flora, fauna and wildlife.

Bring your own boat, paddles and life jackets, and be sure to wear clothing and shoes that you can get wet. The trip upriver is not strenuous, and can be enjoyed by folks of all ages and stages of boating experience.

Meet your guides at the grist mill, and we will begin our journey by putting in just below the WWI Centennial Bridge.

Cost is $5 per person. This minimal cost allows us to continue to offer such after hour programs at the park.
